History of Jaipur
Maharaja Jai Singh built the city in 1727 as the new capital of the Kachwaha dynasty. However, the city came into notice as a developing place only in the early 19th century.

Some of the famous monuments are Jantar Mantar, Albert Hall, City Palace, Statue Circle, Hawa Mahal, and Moti Dungri. Jantar Mantar is amongst the five observatories in India. It consists of almost 1000 windows and is best viewed from the other side of the street as the “palace” is just a façade!
